Creating Magic through the power of petals
La Vie en Fleurs literally means Life in Flowers. We truly do view the beautiful world of florals and fauna is our medium! From whimsical vase arrangements to bridal bouquets, suspended ceiling pieces, large staircase installments, headdresses, petal play, to our dried flower collections, we truly do live a life in flowers. La Vie En Fleurs is located in the small town of Sequim in Washington state which can be found in the heart of the Olympic Peninsula nestled between the mountains, rainforest, and Salish Sea.
Meet Sarah Tsistinas
La Vie en Fleurs was founded by Sarah Tsistinas. Her love for flowers is evident in almost every aspect of life. Sarah grew up on the East Coast and moved from Brooklyn, New York in 2019. She comes from a very long history in high-end restaurants and bars where she transitioned from serving and bartending to the culinary arts. Her foray into floral design began in a local flower shop, where she immersed herself in the day-to-day designs which slowly transformed into finding her own personal style of delicate artistry. She eventually decided to embark on her own adventure, taking her unique style and aesthetic and creating a wedding and event floral business specializing in wearable floral art.
At the heart of LVF Floral lies Sarah’s ability to turn concepts into vibrant works of art. The challenge, as she sees it, lies in translating emotions, stories, and visions into living masterpieces and floral works of art. Each creation becomes a testament to her ability to capture the essence of a moment and transform it into a captivating expression of beauty. Away from the design table, you’ll find Sarah in Sequim working the days away in her office, knee-deep in dirt at Sisterland Farms as well as her own small homestead, playing with her most favorite pups, Brix and Dixie, or spending time with her partner and friends.
Some things we strongly believe in
La Vie en Fleurs is dedicated to growing more good in our world. The floral industry as a whole is wrapped up in high fossil fuel usage, immense amounts of single-use plastics, toxic floral foams, and mass production of flowers that are all taxing on our earth and underpaying farmers. We have decided through this business, we can do our part to support sustainable practices and help aid, even just a little, in mending our earth and our humans. We are dedicated to zero single-use plastic materials, including floral foam, in any of our events and installations. We are drastically minimizing our carbon footprint and supporting local farms by using only local flower farms during the growing season. We are also currently working towards year-round local growing in our own garden and at Sisterland Farms. Our goal is to be wholesaler free by 2026. All of our excess floral materials are composted and our vessels, containers, installation hardware, and the vast majority of pieces we use in this business are all upcycled containers from local second-hand stores and salvage shops, helping keep more material out of landfills.
La Vie en Fleurs is also dedicated to collaborating with other local, Queer, BIPOC, and Women-owned businesses.
