Woodland Fairytale Wedding at Misty Clover Farm
Kacie and Evan were an absolute gem of a couple! “They” always say to target your ideal client and I must say- this couple absolutely was the ideal! SKacie came to LVF because she loved our style and ideas and then proceeded to hand over the reins entirely!
This kind of trust and creative freedom is what us florists LIVE for! It allowed me to design intuitively, creating magic with only the freshest flowers that were available. We were able to source from flower farms as far as Chimacum to Port Angeles. When the inevitable pivot arose, it was the smoothest of transitions. Couples who choose LVF Floral for their wedding flowers understand that our commitment to sourcing locally grown, seasonal blooms means your arrangements will always reflect the best of what’s in season. And no matter what, we’ll maintain the integrity, style, and color scheme of your event.
Every flower was perfectly matched! From the insane Hydrangeas from Hydrangea Rangers in Sequim, to the Chocolate Cosmos and Phlox from Lexi Mara in Port Townsend, the insanely robust mushrooms from Maddie’s Mushrooms in Port Angeles, and the sexy pieces we were able to source from Seattle Grower’s Market, every flower, plant, and otherwise matched this absolute fairytale of a wedding.
Misty Clover Farm, located in Discovery Bay, Washington, was the perfect setting for this woodland fairytale wedding. The Moon Theater ceremony site features a large open stage with amphitheater seating for up to 100 guests and a grassy meadow for the walk down the aisle. The rest of the 54-acre property is filled with winding trails, mossy groves, and towering evergreens, an absolute dream for wedding photos surrounded by the beauty of the Olympic Peninsula
I’ve developed a real love affair with these thrifted brass compote bowls. We found them on Marketplace from someone selling them out of Seattle and I’m so glad we jumped on them. They’ve been perfect for so many different events. The contrast of the hanging amaranth from Chi’s Farm in Sequim and these champagne cockscomb celosias that we received from Seattle Wholesale Grower’s Market, against the warm brass was absolutely stunning. They’re easy to design in and pack a serious punch for their size, all that delicious texture spilling down toward the stage. If anything, I wish I’d added even more candles, because who says you can’t use them in a daylight ceremony? Not me!
The arch carried that wild, forest energy onto the stage, filled with branches and foliage that felt untamed yet softened by the blooms. The owners of Misty Clover hand built this Birch arch which was perfect for this “Middle of the Woods in Port Townsend” look we were aiming for! I love weaving in foraged elements and layering texture into my installations. I think that mix of texture and foraged bits is what keeps my designs feeling real and connected to the space.
Designing the centerpieces might have been my favorite part of the day. I had the opportunity to take a larger role in the tablescape design, hand-selecting the candles, glassware, and place settings from this amazing rental company in Seattle. Their elegant selection truly complemented the florals. The centerpieces themselves were whimsical, enchanting, and just a little wild. We brought the forest indoors with curiosity shoppe-style cloches brimming with mushrooms from Maddie’s Mushrooms, passionflower vine, and carnivorous pitcher plants. As the day went on, the cloches began to softly mist over, adding this otherworldly, ethereal touch that felt perfectly in tune with Misty Clover Farm’s name and the dreamy, enchanted woods feel. The result was something out of a fairytale- moody, textural, and full of life.
If there’s one thing this wedding reminded me of, it’s how magical things become when couples fully trust their vendors. Everyone deserves a stress-free wedding day surrounded by people who are just as invested in making their vision come to life. When you give your creative team the freedom to do what they do best, the results are always something uniquely you.
If you’re drawn to designs that reflect the season and the landscape, LVF Floral would love to help you craft something all your own, right here on the Olympic Peninsula or wherever your celebration takes you.
