Agate Beach Lodge

If you’ve been searching for the perfect secluded wedding venue on the Olympic Peninsula, we have a great suggestion! Agate Beach Lodge offers everything you could dream of from a stunning beachfront to lush forest surroundings, plus a beautiful lodge for you and your guests to stay in.

Nestled just 13 miles (a 20-minute drive) west of Port Angeles, the lodge provides easy access to all the wonders of Olympic National Park while remaining outside park boundaries giving you privacy and convenience.

As a private venue with on-site lodging, Agate Beach Lodge is ideal for intimate elopements or weddings of up to 75 guests. For the ultimate experience, you can book the entire A-frame lodge, which requires a two-night minimum stay. The lodge features three beautifully appointed rooms, sleeping up to eleven people, and grants you exclusive access to the entire property.

While I may be biased, spring and summer truly shine at Agate Beach Lodge offering the widest variety of locally grown flowers which we can source at nearby flower farms in
Sequim and Port Angeles. It’s also the time of year that offers the most reliable weather for your special day. For couples dreaming of an outdoor ceremony, the sweet spots are late spring, summer, and early fall, when sunny skies and comfortable temperatures are most likely.

But don’t count out the other seasons! The lodge provides a charming indoor venue as a cozy backup for unexpected weather or for those who want a moody, misty coastal wedding in winter. Rain or shine, every season has its magic at Agate Beach Lodge.

Reasons we love Agate Beach Lodge for your wedding:

Its Close to Olympic National Park

Agate Beach Lodge places you minutes away from the Olympic National Park’s most breathtaking landscapes. Picture your guests wandering through the emerald canopy of the Hoh Rainforest one day, then toes-in-the-sand at Ruby Beach the next. Whether it’s the alpine glow of Hurricane Ridge or the serene shores of Lake Crescent, adventure awaits before or after your wedding day.

Sustainability is a Priority

As a florist committed to zero-waste practices (no floral foam, ever!), I deeply appreciate venues that share this ethos. Agate Beach Lodge’s natural coastal beauty means less need for excessive décor—letting your florals (and the landscape!) shine without waste. Making it easy for couples to plan a low environmental impact, high quality impact wedding.

Inclusive, Stress-Free Prep Places

No outdated “bridal suite” labels here! The lodge’s light-filled loft and flexible common areas let you and your crew get ready together (or separately) in a relaxed, gender-neutral space. As someone who values inclusivity, I love that they skip the tired traditions and focus on what matters. All love is celebrated and welcome at Agate Beach Lodge!

How to get to Agate Beach Lodge

Option 1: By Ferry (Recommended for Scenic Route)

Take the Seattle-Bainbridge Island Ferry (be sure to check the Washington State Ferries schedule in advance, as holidays and events can impact wait times).

From Bainbridge Island:

  1. Follow WA-305 to WA-3 N.

  2. Turn left onto WA-104 W, crossing the Hood Canal Bridge (watch for porpoises!).

  3. Merge onto US-101 N toward Port Angeles.

Option 2: Driving from Tacoma (No Ferry)

  • Via I-5 and Hood Canal:

    1. Take I-5 S to Tacoma

    2. Exit onto WA-16 W toward Gig Harbor (crossing the iconic Tacoma Narrows Bridge)

    3. Continue as WA-16 W merges with WA-3 N

    4. Stay on WA-3 N to WA-104 W near Poulsbo

    5. Take WA-104 W across Hood Canal Bridge

    6. Merge onto US-101 N toward Port Angeles

From Port Angeles (Both Routes):

  1. Continue through town and turn right onto WA-112 W.

  2. Follow signs for Salt Creek Recreation Area, turning right onto Camp Hayden Road.

  3. The road becomes Crescent Beach Road—continue west for ~1 mile.

  4. Arrive at 2181 Crescent Beach Road—your private retreat at Agate Beach Lodge!

Pro Tip: The ferry saves time from Seattle, but the Tacoma route avoids ferry waits. Both take ~2–2.5 hours total.
